to the Royal Rosarians for the gift of $650 presented at our Multicultural Day for our field trip program. Royal Rosarian John Creegan joined us during our rockin' assembly where we celebrated the history of the Blues.

 

Study Club

Students are welcome in the library every day from 8-9:00 in the morning for Study Club. There is homework help, computer use, and it is nice in there! No sign up needed.

Binders

Every student carries an AVID Binder this year. It is 2" thick, has five dividers, a pencil pouch with pencils and pens and a highligher, and the weekly calendar and student handbook. We sell them for only $5.00!

George Middle School is going on a big field trip on Friday, March 5, 2010! We have a great group of students, and we want to reward them. Students will go to the OMSI Science Museum and to the astronomy movie in the Omnimax for FREE! Also, students will see the new OMSI exhibit called Space: A Journey to Our Future. This will be a fun and educational field trip for many!

 In order to earn this field trip, students must follow our school rules of being safe, responsible and respectful. This means your child must meet at least three of the following four requirements:

  • Meet or exceed (pass) both of their OAKS Math and Reading tests
  • Have 96% attendance, which for most students means no more than 1.5 absences (from January 4-February 26)
  • Get ZERO behavioral referrals for any reason (from January 4 to March 4)
  • Get no more than 2 citations (from January 4 to March 4)

So, as of January 4, all students qualify! Please help them be able to go. On March 1, field trip permission slips will be sent home with students, but they can be taken back for referrals or citations. We will need chaperones. A letter is being sent home soon, so please fill it out if you can help.
